My Review

The CD traning course is really simple and designed for people that are completely new to trading. It explains market cycles, how to read bar charts, and all of this on videos. The course is very basic, doesn`t touch on candlesticks, chart formations, waves, etc. The system is a simple moving average.

Although the system is very simple, it doesn`t work for itself. You definitely need to subscribe to the newsletter, which you download 3 times a week (daily since september 2007).

Keith Cotterill, has 10 years experience in trading, basically commodities. Since now you can spread bet UK shares and commodities in the UK, you can access the markets with less capital. But following his reviews you will notice his lack of experience in the shares market.

The system is really simple, and relies exclusively in Keith Cotterill`s analysis of the markets. Without this analysis, you are going to lose a lot of money. Even with his analysis I have lost money.

Why is the system so popular then?

Well, there is a "secret" as he claims. Shares and Commodities are risky, and you can measure this risk, which is normally known as BETA or IMPLIED VOLATILITY. Although this is known by economists and traders, and is a measure that is normally followed, he found a relationship which has proved to be useful, and he gives good signals for entry trades.

When you understand this signal, you will have profits, but you need to be patient, since there are only 2-4 signals a year.

To overcome this problem he analises UK shares as well, but I have to say that I lost money here between May 2007 and September 2007.

In this period I did 31 trades, and only 2 have profits. 29 trades gave me losses. The total loss was 1,049 points for these 31 transactions.

The second reason for the program to be so popular is that is has been well marketed by Nick Laight, from Canonbury Publishings. Althought the incredible high price, they have sold several hundreds of this course. Before 2006, Keith Cotterill was selling an ebook of the system, with very poor results. He also tried to sell the ebook in the US, and as you will find in some forums, I read many bad reviews.

Between Keith Cotterill and Nick Laight they have produced this Video Course, which have sold very well, twice a year (March and October).

Is the software worthy?

Well, I think the software is very simple, and you are better off with a professional package like Metastock, Metratrader, or any other.

Also you need to feed with data your software, which is done by CBR at a cost of around £20 a month for commodities, and INVERSTOREASY for UK Shares for around £10 a month.
And you definitely need the Market Analysis which costs £30 a month.


Bear in mind this is NOT a Tipping Service, he only analyses the charts and give you comments, saying he is NOT ALLOWED by the FSA to give tips, which I found scary, because you are on your own when you trade, not knowing if he is trading as well.


Final Words
I think "Don`t Tell The Professionals" is a good experience, you will learn to trade if you are completely new, but as I said, I lost money here, so I cannot reccomend this program. And I think the price is ridiculously, since the course is so simplistic and you could learn far more from any trading book.

There are hundreds of trading books, and they usually cost up to £30.
